Yes & No. Helium balloons are generally not allowed in the arenas and convention centers. Non-helium balloons are generally acceptable. Feel free to check with the appropriate venue for a definite answer. Signs are acceptable as long as they do not block anyone's vision and do not cause physical damage to the venue. You may want to check with the actual arena or convention center for their specific rules regarding signage.
No. All Spirit Rocks events are general admission seating which means "first come, first serve." We ask that you do not save seats for others arriving later or for a team that is practicing or performing. We also do not allow the placement of bags in chairs. Any bags left in chairs may be removed by the Spirit Rocks staff if it is deemed necessary. VIP Fan Seating (for fans of the competing team) will be available at all Spirit Rock events.
Yes. As long as the participant adheres to the grade restrictionof each division in which they are competing. There is no limit on the number of teams on which they can compete. He/she must pay the full registration fee for the first team and will pay the discounted crossover fee for each additional team they compete with.
Spirit Rocks hires industry leaders as judges from all over the U.S. Our judges include former collegiate cheerleaders and dancers, top notch gym/studio owners, as well as experienced directors and coaches. All judges have several years of experience at all levels in the cheerleading and/or dance industry. Qualified dance judges will be judging dance and the same for cheer. Judges only cross over when they are qualified to do so.
Yes. Each team's score sheets are available immediately after the awards ceremony is over. Designated coaches are the only ones that are able to pick up the score sheets. You will be able to pick up the score sheets at the Coaches Corner. Final team rankings will be available on our website the Monday following the event.
Typically, No. Most venues do not allow food or beverage to be brought into the venue. All bags are subject to check. Please check with the venue for their specific guidelines.
Coaches are allowed to help line-up kids for TINY, EXHIBITION & SPECIAL NEEDS DIVISIONS ONLY. Coaches are not allowed to be on the stage/performance floor for any other divisions, with the exception of spotting routines. Coaches can always stand at the audio table or sit in the designated coaches area, which is typically located directly in front or to the side of the performance floor.
Yes. Division changes are allowed at no charge up until 21 days prior to the event date. After this date, there is a $50 division change fee that will be enforced for each division change requirest. Absolutely NO division changes are allowed within two weeks of the event date.
Yes and no. Parking is different for each event. Some facilities have their own parking lots and some use other parking lots for events. Each facility has the right to determine if a charge for parking is in order. Parking charges, if any, will be posted next to the competition location and information. Spirit Rocks will never charge for parking if their is a fee it is from the facility itself.
No. Any team can compete at our events.
